Fallout 4 players have been testing out mods on PC through Bethesda’s official mod shop, and Xbox One owners will get the chance after the release of next week’s DLC, Far Harbor. To be considered for access, all you have to do is sign up for the beta on Bethesda’s website.
The beta sign-up page asks if you own Fallout 4, which platform you play on, and for your Xbox Live Gamertag. Additionally, you have to give a little information on your created characters. If you’re selected for beta access, you’ll be sent a code via email.
The Xbox One mods beta is up next, though PS4 users will only have to wait a month to try them out for themselves. Bethesda announced that the PS4 beta would come in June. It’s still not confirmed how mods will work on consoles, though we’ll be able to find out when they roll out on the Xbox One this month.
Bethesda recently announced that its PC mod shop has reached one million downloads. The PC has seen quite a few mods including one that lets you play as Metal Gear Solid V characters and another one that added Witcher gear to the post-apocalyptic wasteland. There’s even a mod that brings The Notorious B.I.G., along with his music, to the Commonwealth.
Other mods include being under attack by Thomas the Tank Engine, the addition of New Vegas-style traits, and the ability to wield Star Wars lightsabers.
GameSpot produces a weekly mod showcase called The Fallout Show. The most recent episode featured a settlement and camping mod, and you can see more episodes through the links below:
