Fallout 4 players on PC have been able to download and play with mods through Bethesda’s official mod shop for almost two weeks, and now we know that Xbox One owners will get a chance to try out mods after the next expansion, Far Harbor, releases.
The Bethesda Game Studios Twitter account posted today that a closed beta for Xbox One mods will happen after May 19. Bethesda previously announced that they would arrive to Xbox One in May, while PS4 mods would come in June.
Bethesda also announced that PC mods have seen one million downloads. Fallout 4 has been treated to a large collection of mods, including a couple that bring characters and items from Metal Gear Solid V and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We even saw a mod that brought The Notorious B.I.G. and his songs to the post-apocalyptic world. It’s unlikely that console players will get access to mods that bend copyrights like that.
Other mods put the Commonwealth under attack of Thomas the Tank Engine, add New Vegas-style traits, and let you play in all four seasons. Additionally, one modder brought Star Wars’ lightsabers to the Bostonian wasteland.
