For Honor's Beta Runs for Four Days Later This Month

Following last year’s alpha test, a multiplayer beta for swordfighting game For Honor will take place over the course of four days later this month, Ubisoft announced today.

Ubisoft previously announced the beta would take part at some point in January. We now know it’ll run from January 26-29 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This is a closed beta, and as such, you’ll need to sign up in order to have a shot. Registration began in December and remains open; you can enter your name here for a chance to get in.

Additionally at that site, you can pick one of the three in-game factions with which you want to align yourself. This is part of a promotion called War of the Factions that will track stats during the beta and then offer rewards to the top faction. Everyone who takes part in the beta will also receive other, unspecified rewards. All of these will be available in the full game.

For Honor launches in full not long after the beta, on February 14. A $220 Collector’s edition will be available with a 14-inch statue. Whichever version you choose, an internet connection is required to play, even in the game’s single-player modes. Also of note: the previously confirmed split-screen mode has been cut.
