Persona 5 Delayed Again

Atlus announced today that Persona 5 won’t be released in February as planned.

The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 game has been delayed to a new release date on April 4, 2017 in North America and Europe. Persona 5 is already out in Japan.

Speaking during a livestream today, the game’s developers explained that the delay is the result of the studio needing more time to get the English audio refined and ready. Additionally, there will be a dual audio option, allowing you to play in English or Japanese.

“I know, I know. It stings,” Atlus said during the livestream today, as reported by PersonaCentral. “But Persona 5 set the gold standard for Atlus with its launch in Japan, and we wanted to put the utmost care into ensuring it winds up the best when it launches in the west.”

This is just the latest delay for Persona 5, as it was originally intended to come out in 2015.

Atlus also confirmed today that Persona 5 will be playable at Sony’s PlayStation Experience event, which runs December 3-4.

In other news about Persona 5, we recently learned about how the game lets you receive help from other players online, much in the same way that Persona 4 did, and that the PS3 version looks quite good.
