Ryan Reynolds Explains Why Deadpool Should Win Awards in Silly Video

It’s awards season in the movie industry and actor Ryan Reynolds wants people to vote for Deadpool.

In a cool continuation of Deadpool‘s over-the-top marketing campaign, Reynolds released a silly “For Your Consideration” video in which he lists off the reasons why he thinks the movie deserves recognition. Deadpool has “three good walls and a fourth that’s broken,” Reynolds says in a overly dramatic voiceover. Other notable stats mentioned in the video are 42 rejection letters from Fox, 465 ad lib sequences, 783 million fans (a reference to the $783 million the movie made at the box office) and seven magical unicorns; check out the video below.

Deadpool was nominated for two Golden Globes, Best Musical or Comedy and Best Actor for Reynolds, though the film produced no wins. The movie is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Writers Guild Awards, which take place in February. Nominees for this year’s Academy Awards will be announced on January 24.

The R-rated Deadpool came to theaters in February 2016. As mentioned above, it was a massive success, so it’s no surprise that a sequel is on the way. In recent news about the film, it has been confirmed that two characters from the first movie, Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, are coming back for the sequel.

Deadpool 2 is set to be directed by John Wick‘s David Leitch, who replaces the first film’s director, Tim Miller. The movie doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but Fox currently has two slots allocated for upcoming X-Men movies, in 2018 and 2019. One is thought to be Deadpool 2, the other possibly New Mutants.
