The news of both cast additions comes via The Hollywood Reporter. Ten-year-old Tremblay won much acclaim for his performance in last year’s Oscar-winning drama Room. The young actor himself confirmed it via an Instagram post that shows him squaring up to one of the movie’s alien hunters.

Jane best known for playing the vigilante antihero Frank Castle in the 2004 movie The Punisher, and for his Golden Globe-nominated role in the TV drama Hung. He also appeared in The Mist, Deep Blue Sea, and Boogie Nights.

Tremblay and Jane will join the likes of Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, and Keegan-Michael Key. The Predator is directed by Shane Black, who made Iron Man 3 and last year’s acclaimed crime comedy The Nice Guys.

In an interview last year, Black explained that The Predator would have a much larger scale than the previous films in the franchise. “I think the first one was great, and it was contained, and it was a perfect little gem for what it was. I think there’s an expansion that needs to take place, and also just a love for that era, that movie, and the mythology of the Predator.

“I think that they came to me knowing pretty much that… they said, basically, if I wanted to make Predator but treat it like it was Iron Man 3 instead of just another little movie. I said, ‘Let’s really do it right this time.'”

Black himself appeared in the original Predator, the 1987 smash starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by John McTiernan. To date there have been four further films, including the direct sequel Predator 2, two Alien vs. Predator movies, and 2010’s Robert Rodriguez-produced Predators.

The Predator is set to be released on March 2, 2018.
