New gameplay of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter has been revealed by developer Frogwares’ CEO, Wael Amr, on the PlayStation Blog. It features additional playable characters, a semi-open world, and Assassin’s Creed-like chase sequences–also, Holmes looks a bit like Madmen actor Jon Hamm.
The new Sherlock Holmes game lets you move freely throughout several districts in London, England. Each district is its own open area, while you’ll have to travel to others by horse and carriage–you won’t be able to travel from one to another without hitting a loading screen. You can check it out for yourself in the video below.
You’ll be able to play the game as other characters, who’ll help Holmes with his investigations. The video shows that you can play as a boy named Wiggins, who you’ll use for a chase sequence similar the Assassin’s Creed games, where you have to follow someone without being seen.
Additionally, the gameplay video shows that you’ll have to perform a “skill-based activity” to do things like eavesdrop, though these can be turned off in order to just get the story. At any time, you’ll be able to switch to a first-person perspective as well.
